awkwardly contrasting our last release, subgenius’ self-titled record has been sent off for duplication and should be back in the next day or two. i had a ton of fun with these guys and i think the record turned out really well. this track is the third (and final?) chapter in the three part ‘robocalypse’ suite, entitled “your flesh is a relic”. as explained by mike and james, the first song outlines the robot apocalypse scenario, the second introduces the human uprising, and the third explores the aftermath of the whole ordeal. the highlight of the recording process was setting the click for this song. i played back the tempo i thought was appropriate and james responded with “could you slow it down a bit? it should sound triumphant, but also like we sustained heaby losses.” you can’t rush that.
